It all started when I passed my CKA. At the time, I had been working full-time as a DevOps Engineer at KPN for about four years. While I loved the work, I knew I wanted to dive much deeper into Kubernetes and the broader CNCF landscape. I realized that to truly immerse myself in these technologies, it was time to switch environments.

About

I’m a Cloud Native DevOps Engineer from the Netherlands that continuously seeks opportunities that allows him to learn, improve and adapt. I like challenges and guiding others towards the goal. Besides work, I love cycling and exploring the wildest places.

Fun facts about me:

Kubestronaut (KCNA | CKA | CKAD | KCSA | CKS) 🚀🧑‍🚀

Passionate about automating everything 🌟

Automated my entire home with HA on Raspberry Pi.

Fluent in Dutch, English, German and Russian.

Love cycling and exploring the wildest places.

Built and shared a script that allowed us to setup a multi-tenant OpsGenie/Solarwinds solution for our customers by thinking outside the box, despite it was not supported/possible in Solarwinds HCO 2025.2: GitHub-repository.

My Homelab Upgrade: Proxmox, ZFS, and Ultimate Home Automation

If you read my previous post about becoming a Kubestronaut, you know I spent a lot of time grinding on a Raspberry Pi K3s cluster. Well, it was time for an upgrade.

Experimenting and pushing the limits of technology at home is something we strongly encourage where I work. If you are curious about the value of doing this, check out this great read on the TrueFullStaq blog about experimenting with homelabs.
